Choose 3/8″ for AQUAvalve5 and 3/8″ Fittings
Choose 1/4″ for older, pre-October 2020 AQUAvalves with 1/4″ Fittings
3/8″ or 1/4″ in-line taps are a very useful accessory. They can be inserted in-line just after the connection to the 12.4 gal plastic reservoirs. This allows you to turn off the water supply if you need to undertake any maintenance. They can also be added to the end of a layout so that now and again you can open the tap and allow the lines to be flushed, removing a sediment or lime scale build-up that might occur over time. This will only take a couple of minutes and only needs to be done every couple of weeks.

Be sure to get a few of these. You never know when you’ll need one. I have one near rez tank and another at end of system.

These work well, but I had one begin to leak over time when kept in a room with high temperatures.

I have a lot of these fail and flooded my tent on several occasions, nice to be able to turn off individual pots when needed. I ordered replacements and received a new design that I hope addresses the issue. I need to order more so all my valves are the newer version. Would be a 1 -2 star rating otherwise, new ones still holding and I will rate them higher if they stand up. Always check on a regular basis and never fill your reservoir all the way unless leaving for extended period of time and have the pots plumbed without them inline.
